The Lammergier

A giant vulture came to the UK....

I managed a trip to the Peak District in between lockdowns in the hope of catching a glimpse of this magnificent vulture. We were definitely in the right spot judging by the number of giant camera lenses. Sadly on that particular evening he must have opted for a different roost (although he was tantalisingly close as had been spotted from the car park just before I arrived). Happily, in October he set off across the channel from Beachy head, probably heading back to the Alps.
